Development of a concept for up to 2.5 GW PV and wind power plants and preparation of tender documents for a corporate PPA

As one of the largest diversified petrochemical companies in the world, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has set a target in its sustainability strategy to develop up to 2.5 GW of installed renewable energy capacity (wind, photovoltaic ) in the form of individual new build projects. The RE power plants are to be developed by private investors on the basis of the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. FMC is supporting SABIC as lead consultant in all commercial/financial and technical aspects of the project. The first step is the development of a technical and economic concept for the plants to be developed, taking into account the regulatory framework. This will be followed by the preparation of tender documents and the associated contracts (in particular the power purchase agreement [PPA]). FMC will then provide support for tendering of the individual projects and evaluate the bids received. SABIC will continue to be supported in the negotiations with the selected bidders.
